Ibn Kabar
Ibn Kabar was a scholar at the end of the golden age of Coptic literary accomplishment. He was born to a wealthy Coptic family towards the end of the 13th century. He was learned in the classical languages of Greek, Hebrew & probably Syriac. He was the scribe of Sultan Baybars (1260-77). He left the Sultan's services and was ordained a priest in St Mary's Church (al Mu'allaqah-suspended). He gave much attention to the spiritual pastoral care of his people. He wrote many books which prove that he was an honorable scholar, deep theologian and a church historian.
